A private airlines flight with 100 passengers on board and bound for Bangalore was brought back to the bay today after smoke was found billowing from it while it was taxing on the runway prior to the take off.
Airport sources said the Spice-jet flight was scheduled to take off at 7.20 am.
The smoke was seen by groundsmen near the runway, who informed the air traffic control and who in turn asked the pilot to return.
The flight was checked and left for its destination an hour later, the sources added.
