The firms will design and construct the track between Rewari in Haryana and Palanpur in Gujarat, said an official of Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd (DFCCI).
The contract, part of the 1,483-km-long western dedicated corridor, is the single largest railway contract so far. The corridor is coming up between Dadri (near Delhi) and Jawaharlal Nehru Port (near Mumbai), the official said.
While for the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, a loan agreement has been concluded between Japan and India, the Eastern DFC would be funded by the World bank loan.
