She also condoled the death of the passengers and conveyed her heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved.
"Congress President today expressed deep shock over the loss of lives and injuries to the passengers on the Diva- Sawantwadi Express that derailed this morning near Nagothane in Raigad, Maharashtra," the AICC said in a release here.
Seventeen people were killed and 120 injured when the engine and four bogies of the passenger train derailed on Konkan Railway route.
