The 17-year-old Brit plays Sansa Stark, who is accompanied by her pet wolf, Lady, on the show, reported Telegraph online.
After the animal was written out of the fantasy series, handlers in charge of the performing dog, whose real name is Zunni, were looking to re-home her.
Turner jumped at the chance to become her real-life owner.
"Growing up I always wanted a dog, but my parents never wanted one. We kind of fell in love with my character's dire wolf, Lady, on set," Turner said.
