In a bid to fast-track projects, Union minister Nitin Gadkari today asked government bodies at the Centre and state level to source infrastructure material right from equipment to cement from the road transport ministry's upgraded Inampro web portal.
"I urge all government departments whether from the Centre or states to source infrastructure material from this upgraded web portal. So far only cement and steel were available here," Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Minister said addressing the launch of Inampro + here.
The upgraded version of Inampro portal is an ecommerce platform which has already been listed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 60 such major initiatives.
The website inampro.Nic.In launched by National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) will act as a repository of all materials used for construction and infrastructure development that includes transplantation machines for trees, haulage vehicles, construction materials and technology.
Gadkari said states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh have to order aggregates from 450 km and this portal will address asymmetries and uncertainties in supplies and prices of materials required for building infrastructure.
"It is my suggestion to NHIDCL, which has launched the portal to use municipal corporations wastes in road building," he said citing as to how NHAI was using Ghazipur mandi waste building eastern peripheral expressway.
NHIDCL chairman Anand Kumar said the portal will help to reduce supply related delays in construction, help to check artificially inflated prices, create a free and fair market place and improve the trust in the market by bringing in transparency.
NHIDCL Director Sanjay Jaju said the portal will help buyers to compare and buy products by giving rates and distance of supplier.
The portal has several features like ability to track orders, add more products (grade/type), payment gateway is incorporated for security purposes and swift cashless transfer of payments.
INAM PRO+ is an updated version of INAM portal which was launched by ministry of road transport and highways in 2015 to procure cement.
