Attacking the manner adopted by government in the passage of the crucial bill, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh said his party would continue to oppose it in Rajya Sabha also.
"The passage of the Bill is the biggest attack on the democratic norms of the country. The bill was passed forcefully. Congress and BJP joined hands. Our party will oppose it in Rajya Sabha also," he told reporters.
Trinamool Congress leader Sudip Bandopadhyay described the passage of the legislation as a "blot on Indian democracy".
"We had proposed amendment and we sought division of votes. I fail to understand how within one minute 300-400 votes could be counted," he said.
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj said "we have supported the Bill for creation of Telangana but criticise the manner in which it was passed."
She alleged "Congress is playing a double game on the issue and wants to take credit in both the regions (Seemandhra and Telangana).
