Speeding car crushes sleeping woman to death in UP

A 50-year-old woman was killed and another injured today when a speeding car allegedly crushed them in Gyanpur area here, police said today.
The hit-and-run incident occurred in the wee hours this morning when the driver of the speeding car lost control over and crushed Malti Devi (50) and Aarti Devi (28) who were sleeping outside their houses, they said.
The injured women were taken to a hospital where Malti died, they said.
The speeding vehicle collided with a tree later and has been impounded, police said, adding that its four occupants fled the scene after the incident.
