No-frills airline SpiceJet will operate on eight new routes apart from increasing the frequencies during the winter schedule.
With the new services, SpiceJet would operate an average of 334 flights a day.
In a release today, the carrier said it has inducted three Boeing 737-800 planes to operate the eight new flights and eight new connections.
The new flights would be Ahmedabad-Bengaluru-Ahmedabad, Ahmedabad-Goa-Ahmedabad, Bengaluru-Guwahati-Bengaluru, Guwahati-Chennai-Guwahati. They would start from November 15.
The eight new connections "now open for sale include - Ahmedabad-Chennai-Ahmedabad, Hyderabad-Delhi-Hyderabad, Delhi-Bengaluru-Delhi, Delhi-Guwahati-Delhi".
SpiceJet's Senior VP (Commercia) Shilpa Bhatia said the new winter schedule strikes the right balance with equal emphasis on metro and non-metro connectivity.
"The induction of three new aircrafts will cater to the enhanced seasonal demand whilst offering flexibility to customers with more flight options to choose from," she added.
Currently, the airline operates an average of 316 daily flights to 44 destinations, including six international ones. Besides, two flights from Kolkata to Visakhapatnam and Bagdogra would commence from November 1.
Earlier this month, aviation regulator DGCA approved the winter schedule that starts from October 30 under which local airlines would operate more than 16,500 flights every week.
