Cardamom prices advanced by 0.41 per cent to Rs 956.90 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions after uptick in demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in September rose by Rs 3.90, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 956.90 per kg in business turnover of 101 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in August contracts traded higher by Rs 3.50, or 0.37 per cent, to Rs 956 per kg in 47 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in cardamom futures to fresh positions created by traders due to pick up in demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals from producing belts.
