Cardamom prices today rose Rs 8.60, or 1.07%, to Rs 808.80 per kg in futures market after speculators enlarged their exposure, driven by rising demand in the market.

Cardamom for delivery in July contracts rose by Rs 8.60, or 1.07%, to Rs 808.80 per kg in a business turnover of 201 lots in futures trading at Multi Commodity Exchange.

Similarly, spice for delivery in August was up Rs 6.50, or 0.82%, to trade at Rs 793 per kg in 10 lots.

Analysts said tight supplies from producing regions mainly pushed up cardamom prices in futures trade.
