The petition, filed by the actor's wife on behalf of her husband, said he used to get an average Rs one lakh daily for each day's schedule and if he remained healthy his remuneration would have been double.
Following the accident, he had to cancel all the film projects and lost his memory and speech capacities, the petition said.
The actor sustained serious injuries when the car he travelled rammed over a divider at Thenipalam near Kozhikode in March last year.
After undergoing treatment in hospitals in Kozhikode and Vellore in Tamil Nadu, the actor was brought to his home here recently.
The 61-year-old actor, known mainly for his comedy roles, has acted in more than 1500 Malayalam movies. He is recipient of many honours including the Second Best Actor and the best comedian awards of the Kerala Government film awards.
