Bhooshan Phulpagare (29), a jawan with the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), made some vulgar gestures at girls staying in a government tribal hostel at Devpur locality in Dhule city yesterday.
The girls informed their hostel superintendent.
Later, the hostel superintendent and girls caught hold of the jawan and beat him up before handing him to police.
The accused was booked under sections 354 (assault or criminal force on a woman with an intent to outrage her modesty) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC.
