Stalin greets Arujuna awardee Satish Sivalingam from TN

DMK treasurer M K Stalin today greeted Arjuna Awardee from Tamil Nadu under weight lifting category Satish Sivalingam and praised him for bringing glory to the State.
"I would like to congratulate Sathish Sivalingam for receiving the Arjuna Award. I wish him all the best for his career and hope that he wins many more medals and awards," he said in a tweet.
"This 23-year old weightlifter from Sathuvachari near Vellore brought glory to our state and the country by (also) winning a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in 2014," he said.
After the award was declared by the Centre, Satish had told the media that it was a big honour for him.

"Sathish is one of the most outstanding players in weightlifting," a press release on the annual sports awards yesterday from the Office of the President of India had said.
It also said he had won Gold medals in Commonwealth Games in 2014, Commonwealth Championships in 2012 and 2013. In recognition of his outstanding achievements, he was conferred Arjuna Award in Weightlifting for 2015, the release added.
Every Arjuna awardee received a statuette, certificate and cash reward of Rs.5 lakh from President Pranab Mukherjee yesterday in Delhi.
