"The state government will soon take a decision to this effect to rejuvenate and strengthen Assam Khadi and Gramodyog Board", the chief minister said while unveiling the life-size statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the premises of Assam Khadi and Gramodyog Board here.
He also asked the Board to carry out a survey to assess the demand of khadi in the state.
He also asked the Board to set up outlets in all the 97 towns of Assam to help the people buy Khadi clothes.
Rural economy has to be strengthened to materialise Gandhiji's dream of Ram Rajya and resolute actions must be taken to encourage the young generation to imbibe the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi.
Sonowal also urged upon the employees of Khadi and Gramodyog Board to follow the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and work to expedite its growth.
