"(As many as) 78,000 wells have been dug in the last two years, which is a record. I have suggested (the state) to put the (construction) details in the website," the Rural Development Minister told reporters here.
It would help other states to follow the Jharkhand model of construction of wells under the MGNREGA, he said.
Stating that work under Saranda Development Plan in West Singhbhum district was on the fast track, he said two roads would be inaugurated within a fortnight there.
"Developmental works in Saranda (forest areas) are going on with two of the nine roads set to be inaugurated within fifteen days," Ramesh told reporters here.
The finished roads are the 2.5 km stretch from Domari to Salai and three km road between Iasiapecha and Jojobutu, he said.
Ramesh expressed satisfaction after reviewing rural developmental works and said the state government officials had told him Rs 670 crore was spent under MGNREGA so far. They assured that they could take it to Rs 1200 crore by March-end, he said.
He reviewed the progress of works under MGNREGA, Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana, Indira Awas Yojana and drinking water.
