Stolen car components seized, 2 held

Car components worth Rs 6 lakh, were seized from a closed factory premises last night at Uttarpara in Hooghly district.
Two persons were arrested in connection with the incident, Inspector in Charge Uttarpara Arijit Das Gupta said.
The General Secretary of the INTTUC affiliated workers' union Uttam Chakroborty said, since the closure of the factory in end May last year, armed miscreants used to pilfer the components of the car threatening the security guard.
The union informed the police and on tip-off the two were arrested last night.
The management of the closed factory could not be contacted.
