A junior intermediate student has sustained injuries after he was stabbed allegedly by his two minor classmates, police said today.
B Girish Kumar was stabbed by two of his classmates, last evening after they had a fight with him over a cell phone at Sujathanagar area limits here, Inspector of Pendurthi police station K Lakshmana Murthy said.
The accused had stolen cell phone of Girish's friend a few weeks back. When Girish asked them to return the phone, he found that they had damaged it. Girish asked them to pay Rs 3,000 to his friend so that he could repair it, Murthy said.
They took Girish in an auto-rickshaw to an isolated place on the pretext that their uncle will give the money. However, they stabbed him using knives and escaped from the spot, police said.
Girish is admitted to a local hospital and a case under section 326 of IPC (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons) has been registered.
