Students' demo holds back college principal

Students of a private engineering college demanding proper placements organised a demonstration outside the chamber of their principal forcing him to spend the night being seated on his chair at Uluberia in Howrah district, police officials said.
Principal Sajal Giri remained seated on his chair since last evening as about 200 students have organised a sit-in demonstration outside his chamber demanding proper placements, they said.
Giri was, however, provided food in the night.
Consultation is going on between the principal and representatives of the agitating students to end the deadlock, they said.
Police is keeping a watch on the situation, they said.
