Sugar drops on subdued demand, ample supplies

Sugar prices dropped at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to lack of demand from stockist and retailers amidst ample supplies.
Medium sugar (M-30) dipped by Rs 14/50 per quintal to Rs 3,326/3,502 from Monday's closing level of Rs 3,340/3,552.
Small sugar (S-30) also fell by Rs 40/22 per quintal to Rs 3,172/3,380 as against Rs 3,212/3,402 previously.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,172/3,380 (Rs 3,212/3,402).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,326/3,502 (Rs 3,340/3,552).
