Sugar price slips on ample supply, selective buying

Sugar prices dropped by up to Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following increased supplies from mills amid selective buying by stockists and bulk consumers.
Marketmen said the fall in sweetener prices was mostly due to ample stocks following increased supplies from mills.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices slipped by Rs 40 each to settle at Rs 3,680-3,780 and Rs 3,670-3,770 per quintal, respectively.
Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also eased by Rs 20 each at Rs 3,400-3,500 and Rs 3,390-3,490 per quintal.
In millgate section, sugar Ramala, Baghpat, Anupshaher,
Morna and Nazibabad lost Rs 50 each at Rs 3,440, Rs 3,450, Rs 3,440, Rs 3,450 and Rs 3,440 per quintal.
Sugar Sakoti declined by Rs 40 at Rs 3,400, while Dorala, Dhanora, Khatuli and Malakpur also fell by Rs 30 each to Rs 3,430, Rs 3,400, Rs 3,450, Rs 3,400 per quintal.
