Sugar prices drop on lower demand

Both the varieties of sugar prices dropped at the Vashi wholesale sugar market here today due to lower demand from stockists and retailers amidst adequate supplies.
Small sugar (S-30) fell by Rs 50/30 per quintal to Rs 3,082/3,181 from last Friday's closing level of Rs 3,132/3,211.
Medium sugar (M-30) also declined by Rs 20/5 per quintal to Rs 3,182/3,366 as compared to Rs 3,202/3,371 previously.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,082/3,181 (Rs 3,132/3,211.
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,182/3,366 (Rs 3,202/3,371).
