Sugar slips on lower demand
Press Trust of India Mumbai Both varieties of sugar slipped at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to lower demand from stockists and retailers amid ample supply position.
Medium sugar (M-30) dropped by Rs 73 per quintal to Rs 2,802/2,952 from Thursday's closing of Rs 2,802/3,025.
Small sugar (S-30) fell by Rs 20/3 per quintal to Rs 2,682/2,802 as compared to Rs 2,702/2,805 yesterday.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,682/2,802 (Rs 2,702/2,805).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,802/2,952 (Rs 2,802/3,025).
