Sugar softens on reduced offtake

Weak conditions prevailed at the wholesale sugar market in the national capital today as prices fell by up to Rs 20 per quintal due to reduced offtake by bulk consuming and stockists.
Marketmen said besides reduced offtake by bulk consumer and stockists against sufficient stocks position, mainly weighed on sugar prices.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 eased to Rs 3,980-4,080 and Rs 3,970-4,070 against last close of Rs 4,000-4,100 and Rs 3,990-4,090 per quintal, respectively.
Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 followed suit and slipped to Rs 3,620-3,770 and Rs 3,610-3,760 from previous levels of Rs 3,620-3,780 and Rs 3,610-3,770 per quintal respectively.

In the millgate section, Kinnoni, Asmoli and Khatauli were also quoted lower at Rs 3,770, Rs 3,760 and Rs 3,765 instead of Rs 3,780, Rs 3,770 and Rs 3,770 per quintal, respectively.
