In a press release, the SAD president said that a "wave of violence had been sweeping through the state" with impunity.
He accused the the Captain Amarinder Singh government of allowing miscreants to make a mockery of the law of the land.
"The high-profile killings have been on the rise despite the tall claims made by the state police of containing such incidents of violence," he claimed.
He asked the state government to take stern action against those involved in the heinous crime.
Hindu Sangarsh Sena's Aimritsar district chief Vipan Sharma (45) was killed by four motorcycle borne assailants today, police said.
