Sultry day in Delhi, Maximum temperature 41.2 degrees Celsius

It was a sultry day in the national capital with the mercury crossing the 40 degrees Celsius mark causing discomfort to the residents.
The Safdarjung observatory, the reading of which is considered as the official figure for the city, recorded the maximum temperature of 41.2 degrees Celsius, a notch above the the season's average while the minimum temperature settled at 28.6 degrees, also a notch above the normal, said a MeT department official.
The Palam observatory registered a maximum temperature of 42.2 degrees Celsius, the official said.
Humidity level in air oscillated between 60 and 39 per cent.
MeT office has predicted the skies to become overcast as the day progresses tomorrow.
"Mainly clear skies will turn partly cloudy and dusty haze is likely to occur towards morning and evening. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 41 and 28 degrees Celsius respectively," the weatherman said.
Yesterday, the minimum temperature and maximum temperature recorded were 28.7 degrees Celsius and 38 degrees Celsius, respectively.
