Surajkund hot spring to be developed as tourist spot

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said Surajkund in Hazaribagh district, famous for its hot spring, would be developed as a major tourist destination.
The government has a plan to have a park, eateries, cottages for accommodating tourists, and quality road leading to Surajkund, Das said while inaugurating the Makar Shankranti mela at Surajkund, known as the hottest hot spring of Asia.
The chief minister also accepted the proposal of Barkatha MLA Janki Yadav and announced develop a ropeway from one hill to another surrounding Surajkund, as is there in Rajgir,Bihar.
On his return to Ranchi, Das said he will direct the tourism department to prepare an estimate of the proposed tourist centre at Surajkund, where toilets will be constructed at Surajkund with an investment of Rs 44 lakh.
Das said funds would be provided as soon as the tourism department prepare the Detail Project Report. Later, addressing a public meeting on the occasion, the chief minister stressed on the need to make rural women self sufficient.
Government will provide two cows to each woman with 90 per cent subsidy in the next year's budget, he said adding the government have also decided to give pension to widows and encourage them to set up cottage industries.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated 25 development projects worth Rs 58.76 crore online.
