Kamrup(Metro) Deputy Commissioner M Angamuthu issued an order directing all Circle Officers to conduct the survey and inspection of the lifts/elevators with Land Records staff along and assistance of competent authority of Guwahati Municipal Corporation and Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority, an official release said.
The decision to this effect was taken following the recent death of a senior citizen in an elevator mishap at an apartment in Guwahati City.
The officials have been asked to prepare circle wise database of the figure of lifts/elevators and its functioning and to ensure inspection.
