SVO files charge sheet against executive engineer in DA case

The Jammu branch of State Vigilance Organization (SVO) Saturday filed charge sheet against an executive engineer for possessing assets disproportionate to his known source of income.

The SVO had registered a case under various section of prevention of corruption act at police station vigilance organisation Jammu against the accused officer.

"After scrutinizing the records and fulfilling all the legal formalities, charge sheet has been filed by the SVO against the accused before the court of special judge anti-corruption, Jammu, for legal determination," a spokesman for the SVO said.

He said that during the course of investigation, searches were conducted at the residential house of the accused officer by a team of vigilance officers and it was found that the accused had amassed huge immoveable and moveable properties by abuse of his official position and corrupt means.

He said various incriminating documents pertaining to land property, bank records, passbooks and cheques of different banks, gold and cash were recovered and seized.
