Swaraj India announces women wing in Delhi
Press Trust of India New Delhi Yogendra Yadav-led Swaraj India party today announced the formation of its 'Mahila Swaraj Morcha' and said the women wing will campaign against liquor shops in residential areas and near schools in Delhi.
The new wing will be headed by party leader Sarvesh Verma. It will have seven vice presidents and a general secretary, Anupam, president of Delhi unit of the party, said.
"Swaraj India has consistently promoted and ensured political participation of women and youth," he said.
Anupam said the announcement of the party's women wing underlines its commitment towards the issues faced by women.
The party will also form a task force on women security by the end of this month, he added.
