According to the MeT department, the maximum temperature was recorded at 34.6 degrees Celsius, which was one notch above the normal as also yesterday's reading of 33.6 degrees.
Humidity levels during the day fluctuated between 57 and 89 per cent, causing discomfort to all those who stepped out to enjoy their Sunday or for any work.
"We went to old Delhi, the area around Jama Masjid, but due to extremely humid conditions it was very uncomfortable and we had to return within an hour," said Augustin, a German tourist.
The national capital has not received any rain in the last two days and tomorrow's forecast only suggests that light showers may occur in some areas.
"It will be a generally cloudy day tomorrow. Light rain or thundershowers may occur in some areas," a MeT official said.
The maximum and minimum tomorrow are expected to settle, respectively, at around 35 and 27 degrees, he added.
