It has put forward a proposal in this regard to Telangana Government, which has agreed to look into it.
The company's Managing Director, Raman Nagarajan, along with consultant Daina Millers Dalsio and waste management expert Towe Ireblad called on Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at Secretariat here and discussed the proposal, an official statement said here today.
"They informed that an estimated 4,500 metric tonnes of garbage and organic waste could be collected in Hyderabad city from which 108 MW could be produced at the rate of 36 MW for every 1,500 metric tonnes," the statement said.
This will also ensure that cleaning of the city is done in a systematic manner. Bio-diesel and biogas are considered less polluting fuels.
The delegation told the Chief Minister that Asian Development Bank may come forward to finance such projects.
Rao, responding to the proposal said, he would examine the matter in detail, the statement added.
