Fearing the spread of swine flu, some engineering and medical colleges, whose students staged demonstrations demanding closing of the colleges, have shut down till March 8.
Chief administrator of KIET institute Manoj Goel said today that the management had provided masks and distributed precautionary dose of homeopathic medicine to the students. But considering students' demand, the college has been closed till March 8, the day of Holi festival.
Internal assessment tests which were scheduled in this week have been postponed.

Keeping in view the volatile situation and unrest among the students, the managements of ABES engineering college, IMS institute and Krishna Engineering College have also announced closure of the colleges till March 8, Goel added.
Engineering student Utkarsh Gupta of KIET institute told that college administration has sent SMS to parents of all students informing that college has been closed sine die and ordered the hostelers to vacate their rooms by 12 noon on February 25.
Officiating district magistrate Krishna Karunesh said the administration has appreciated the decision of closure by all college managements till March 8 by which the swine flu virus and panic will subside.
