Almost 10 days into July, Telangana has witnessed a 33 per cent deficiency in rainfall, causing concern over shortage of water in the state.
During the current South West monsoon season, beginning June 1 to July 9, the state received 126.6 per cent rainfall against normal rainfall of 189.4 which is a -33 per cent departure, according to the Met centre here Tuesday.
Only Karimnagar and Kumram Bheem districts in the state received excess rain of six per cent above normal.
The deficiency in rainfall is expected to impact Kharif operations in view of the loss of of time.
The Met office had earlier said the overall rainfall during the south westmonsoonseason is expected to be normal.
