Tata Power-DDL chips in to restore power in Kerala

Tata Power Delhi Distribution (Tata Power-DDL) has dispatched 473 km length of cables to assist in the restoration of electricity in Kerala, that was devastated by floods last month.

The Tata-Power DDL has dispatched seven trucks loaded with 473 km length of cables to assist the Kerala State Electricity Board(KSEB), a release from Tata-Power DDL said here Tuesday.

The relief and rehabilitation initiative is a part of Tata Power-DDL CSR activity, the release said.

The Rs two crore 2.5 Sq. mm 1.1 KV grade cables with 473 km length were dispatched to KSEB Sub Regional Stores Power House in Aluva of Ernakulum district, it said.

CEO of Tata Power-DDL, Sanjay Banga said, "Disaster management has key challenges - to provide an immediate medical aid, arranging for food and shelter and restoration of electricity and provision of drinking water.

The early restoration of power supply significantly contributes towards the faster relief and rehabilitation work."
