"We get around 400 complaints per month and we are able to resolve around 80 per cent successfully," Income Tax Ombudsman (East) K K Mohapatra said here today at an interactive session with Bengal National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
"About 5-10 per cent of the complaints are imaginary and not sustainable. In very old cases records are not available and such things makes things difficult in resolving a complaint," Mohapatra said.
Ombudsman handles Income tax related complaints, including tax refunds. About 80 per cent of the complaints are refund related problems.
