Acting on a complaint, civil surgeon of East Singhbhum district Dr Vibha Saran led a four-member team and conducted raid in the clinic and caught the operator, Ajit Kumar Nayak, who was conducting the sex determination of the woman in lieu of Rs 5000, Dr. Saran said.
"In fact, we laid a trap to catch the clinic owner and sent the pregnant woman, who happened to be our staff member," Dr Saran said adding "we have been receiving complaint about the clinic carrying out sex determination".
Asked whether the Ultrasound machine was seized, she said the machine was a registered in a name of a doctor.
