Technology & bio-business meet in Hyderabad from tomorrow

Over 1,500 delegates from nearly 50 countries will take part in a three-day technology and bio-business convention on Asia that will get underway here from tomorrow.
The event, BioAsia 2017, is a technology and bio- business convention of Asian nations on life sciences, pharmaceuticals and healthcare.
Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana E S L Narasimhan will inaugurate the event.
On the occasion, he will present the Genome Valley Excellence Award to Nobel Laureate Prof Kurt Wuthrichand and Paul Stoffels, Worldwide Chairman (Pharmaceuticals) and Chief Scientific Officer of Johnson & Johnson, for their contribution in the field of life sciences and healthcare, a press release said today.
Over 1,500 delegates from more than 50 countries besides 100 speakers and 800 corporates will take part in the conference, it said.
The international partners for the 14th edition of the event are the state of Illinois, US and state of Selangor, Malaysia. Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh are the Indian state partners.
Delegations from these regions will attend a series of meeting to explore business opportunities, collaborations in the field of research and innovation and sharing know-how to meet the requirement of affordable drugs and treatment for emerging diseases, it said.
Organised by the Department of Industries and Commerce, Telangana, the event this year brings together leaders in pharma industry from across the globe.
An exhibition at the event venue will showcase some of the innovative products, services and solutions in life sciences and healthcare.
BioAsia 2017 will organise a parallel event, 'Startup Showcase', wherein around 50 emerging firms will showcase their solutions in the fields of health and diagnostic mobile apps, patient data management and e-health records, the release added.
