The deceased has been identified as Mohan Lal, a police officer said, adding that no suicide note was found.
Lal's body was found hanging with a hook of a ceiling fan at his residence yesterday, the police officer said.
He said on getting information from family members, police reached the spot and shifted the body to the Government Medical College (GMC) hospital for postmortem.
A case has been registered and investigation initiated, police said.
