The Tehelka founder, who is in 6-day police custody, was also taken to the Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour for preliminary tests.

A senior doctor at the institute said Tejpal will be subjected to a detailed examination later. No details were available about today's tests.

Dressed in a blue full sleeved shirt and black trousers, the 50-year old pony-tailed journalist, looked exhausted as he entered the building housing blood bank in Goa Medical College campus in Bambolim village near here at 8 a.M.

"He (Tejpal) was not allowed breakfast because the tests had to be conducted empty stomach," said the crime branch official.

Unlike earlier, when Tejpal's arrival had attracted several cameras and boom mikes, there was no media blitzkrieg today. Not a single camera was there when Tejpal got down from an air-conditioned vehicle specially hired by Crime Branch to ferry Tejpal.

The media buzz at the scene where Tejpal arrives is on the wane since yesterday.
