Telangana to get Rs 797.57 cr from Centre for supplying water

The Centre has agreed to provide Rs 797.57 crore to Telangana towards supplying safe drinking water in fluoride-affected habitations in the state.
The Telangana government has submitted proposals to the Centre that Rs 1595.14 crore would be required to supply safe drinking water through the state's Mission Bhagiradha scheme in 966 fluoride-hit areas, an official release said here today.
The Union government secretary for drinking water supply Parameswaran Iyer has assured to release Rs 797.57 crore towards the Centre's share, it added.
