At least ten people, including five fighters, have been killed and 14 others injured in two separate accidents in China.
Five fire fighters were killed and 14 others injured in a warehouse collapse while trying to put out a fire in Harbin city of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
The fire burnt down the third floor of a warehouse at the Beifangnanxun ceramics market in Harbin city at about 10 pm last night, burying the firemen on the second floor, it said.
The 14 injured firemen were rushed to hospital. The condition of three of them was stated as critical.
The warehouse is part of a 11-storeyed residential building.
The first to third floor are used as warehouses and the rest eight floors are residential areas.
Meanwhile, in another incident at least five workers were killed and one remained missing after a rooftop and scaffold collapsed in central China's Hunan Province yesterday.
The collapse occurred at around 5:10 pm when eleven workers were finishing construction work at a machine repair workshop of a local non-ferrous metal company in Chenzhou city.
Five workers were pulled out of the debris and rushed to hospital, state-run Xinhua reported.
