Opposition BSP today trashed as an "eye-wash" the Vishnu Sahai Commission report on Muzaffarnagar riots, saying it was completely "biased" and staged a walkout from the state Legislative Council.
As soon as the report was tabled in the House during Zero Hour, BSP members said it gave a clean chit to the government and "saved" the "real culprits".
It's worth rejecting. It's only an "eye-wash", they said.
The BSP members said triggering the riots was a serious issue but the government failed to take timely action.
Leader of the House and Cabinet Minister Ahmad Hasan replied, saying the report is logical and charges "wrong".
Dissatisfied with the reply, the BSP members walked out of the House.
The BJP members alleged the Opposition members have been targeted in the report and the government and its people "saved".
Leader of BJP Legislature Party Hriday Narain Dixit and other members came into Well and staged a protest.
In between, Hasan alleged "RSS people" had triggered the riots.
Chairman Om Prakash Sharma requested the BJP members to go back to their seats but the protest continued and the House was adjourned for 10 minutes.
Earlier, the House expressed grief over the demise of former Lok Sabha Speaker P A Sangama, ex-Council members Shanti Devi and Mohan Lal Khattar and observed a two-minute silence.
