The actress and the creator of the show took to Twitter to share the news.
Kaling tweeted a photo of her character, Mindy Lahiri, sitting at a desk and looking befuddled. "We are back. Day 1 of shooting the final season of #TheMindyProject," she wrote.
"The Mindy Project", which premiered on Fox in 2012, moved to Hulu in 2015, it will return for season six this September.
