The total debt of three state public
sector units (PSUs), now closed, amounted to over Rs 4.22 crore, state Finance Minister Lalsawta informed the Assembly today.
In a written reply to a question from Dr K Beichhua of the Mizo National Front (MNF), Lalsawta said the PSUs were Zoram Electronics Development Corporation (ZENICS) Zoram Handloom and Handicraft Corporation (ZOHANCO) and Mizoram Agriculture Marketing Corporation (MAMCO).
The three PSUs were closed down by the state government in December last as they were declared as sick units and after recommendations of the Planning Commission.
