Theft accused flees from police lock-up

An accused in a theft case escaped from police lock up today.
Rizwan Manir (28) of Dahisar here was arrested by Local Crime Branch in connection with a theft incident of 2012 yesterday and was lodged at Nalla Sopara police station at around 6 pm, a police official said.
The personnel on duty this morning found the accused missing and it seems that he managed to break the roof of the lock up and fled.
A search has been launched to arrest the accused, police added.
