Spielberg, in a 60 minute segment, talked about the expectation from Abrams to deliver a mega box office hit with the highly-anticipated installment of the beloved space adventure series.
"Oh J J is terrified," Spielberg told Bill Whitaker.
"There's a lot of pressure on J J to start paying Disney back for, you know, the franchise they bought from from George Lucas."
Disney brought the Star Wars franchise from Lucas in 2012 for USD 4 billion dollars.
Abrams has also talked about the pressure of rebooting a well-known franchise like this.
"Star Wars" is slated to hit the Indian screens on December 25, a week after its US release.
