The famous Vaishnavite temple, located in the dense forests, had been abandoned after the community migrated from the Valley following the advent of militancy in 1989.
It was unanimously decided that, as usual, this year too the, managing committee of the sanstha will organise a Varshik Yagya (annual hawan) at Mata Tripur Sundri Asthapan, Khanabarni-Devsar-Kulgam (Kashmir) for the welfare of mankind, falling on June 6, he said.
Some prominent saints from outside the State are expected to attend the Maha-Yagna at Tripur Sundri Asthapan, he said.
The Relief Commissioner, relief organisation, Jammu and concerned Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam will be approached for making necessary transport, water supply, electricity and security arrangement respectively.
The Tripursundari shrine, dedicated to the Rogyana- Bhagwati deity, is one of three Vaishnavite shrines in the Valley. The other two shrines are in Tulmula and Manzgam in south Kashmir.
