Based on the information that many people from Bangladesh were staying illegally at Rakkipalayam in Tirupur, police carried out a raid in a knitwear manufacturing unit last night and nabbed three persons who did not have proper documents, police said.
The arrested persons, who were working as tailors on contract basis, will be sent to Chennai, where they will be lodged in Puzhal Prison after legal formalities, they said.
Interrogation revealed that they came via West Bengal and an agent sent them to Tirupur after taking Rs 15,000 each. They were getting a salary of Rs 10,000 each, police said.
