Three children killed, five injured in lightning strike

Three children were killed and five others injured today in two separate lightning strikes in Bihar's Madhepura district, officials said.
Four children were struck by lightning in an orchard at Lathara village in the district. Three of them died on the spot and another was injured, BDO Aruna Kumar Singh said.
The victims have been identified as Abhimanyu Kumar (12), Amar Kumar (9) and Anita Kumari (8).
Four other persons suffered injuries after being struck by lightning at Lowalgan village in the district while they were working in a field, an official said.
All the injured have been admitted to hospitals.
