The mishap took place on Nadiad-Memdabad road near Arera Patia village, about five kms from the city, Nadiad (rural) police inspector J A Thakor said.
Two of the deceased -- Harshita Patel (57) and Lataben Makwana (36) -- who worked as teachers in primary schools at Arera Patia and Andej villages respectively, were on way to their schools when the incident took place, he said.
The third victim, Veenaben Chhasatiya (35), associated with an anganwadi at Arova village, was also travelling to work, he said.
"Driver Firoz Vora sustained injuries and was taken to Nadiad civil hospital for treatment," he added.
